The Stand-Up: Living Like Daniel curriculum is primarily designed to help children to understand how to apply God’s Word to daily living. Just as Daniel and his friends were faced with pagan systems and secular-dominated structures of society, today’s children are faced with the same challenges. Although today, children standing for righteousness are not being thrown into fiery furnaces- they are thrown into their own modern-day tests of fire. The Stand-Up: Living Like Daniel curriculum explores the modern-day challenges children face in today’s culture that have punctured our society and the stand that is needed for children to take, to remain faithful to our creator.
This 2-week study leads participants through the first chapter of Daniel and is made up of four basic components:
COMPONENTS
Each week will have the following components for your use with the children. This is meant to be a resource. Please feel free to adapt as needed.
Scripture Reference: The scriptural text used and the foundation point of the lesson.
Theme: Foundation Point of the lesson
Introduction of Story: Ask kids questions to get them engaged and set up the big idea of the text
Memory Verse: Scripture connected to the theme will be given to learn and memorize to help reinforce the lesson
Learning Activity: This may be an illustration, game, or some type of ‘ice breaker’ to help reinforce the lesson.
Prayer: A corporate prayer provided that is simple enough for kids to pray along, or understand as the teacher prays
Craft/Music: Suggested activities or craft ideas and/or music for teachers to use following the story
Closing: Challenge the children to live out principles learned in lesson
